Today, Stacy Carlo at GetFitDaily published her latest post, titled "How Much Cardio Do You Really Need?"

Fitness fans can access the new blog post here:

http://getfitdaily.com/how-much-cardio-do-you-really-need/

In her latest blog post, Stacy mentions that she can remember her own Mother getting ready for her four-nights-a-week aerobics class.

"She'd wear her bright purple leotard with the skinny pink belt and complete her outfit with a pink terry cloth headband and pink legwarmers," she says.

She mentions that, while her Mother looked great, she spent at least ten hours a week at the gym and women's coats was bored of her workout routine.

Stacy now admits that the world is aware that endless amounts of cardio are not the best way to lose or maintain weight.

She directly quotes from an article on LiveStrong.com, which states that a person needs around thirty minutes of moderate-intensity cardio four times a week or twenty five minutes of more intense cardio three times per week.

This ensures good cardio health as well as the ability to maintain a healthy weight.

The site also makes a good case for the use of interval training.

"An exercise is classified as moderate-intensity if it causes your heart rate to speed up and leads you to break a sweat but allows you to have a conversation," Stacy writes, quoting directly from the LiveStrong.com article.

She then explains that more and more research indicates that huge amounts of cardio are not needed. In fact, one recent study claims to have proven that ten minutes of cardio actually provides the same benefits as twenty minutes.

"Take that information and add it to what we know about the benefits of interval training and you have a winning plan for getting fit in as little time as possible," Stacy concludes.

“Counterfeit Crime is Rife, so Shows Such as Crime Patrol 2012 and CrimeWatch are Popular” says Watch Retailer Watch Hub as They Launch Video Against Fake Watch Companies

With television programmes such as Crime Patrol 2012 and CrimeWatch a popular staple of the television schedule, the public are becoming more and more wary of the lengths counterfeiters go to produce a fake or replica designer men's watches.

According to the recently published Intellectual Property Crime (IPC) Report (July 2012), the number of watches investigated for counterfeit have increased from 2011, but clothing still remains the most reported counterfeit item for the third year running.

Many may think that by purchasing items such as mens watches in a physical store on the high street, they are less at risk of inadvertently buying a fake than if they were to purchase online. It would come as a surprise then, that the IPC Report shows that fake products are just as likely to be reported in physical stores as they are on websites and web auction sites. In the period between 1st April 2011 and 31st March 2012, 1004 fake watches were seized by the UK Border Force at airports alone.

One of the main reasons for counterfeiting goods is reported to be for financial gain, but the IPC Report states that counterfeiting is often linked women's jackets to organised crime and other criminality as opposed to a stand alone crime. Although the price of a knock off product may look appealing, there can often be dangers involved - especially with electrical equipment as they are often not wired correctly.

Programmes such as Crime Petrol 2012 not only help to catch criminals and help the progress of police investigations, but they also raise awareness on how to avoid falling victim to certain crimes, for example purchasing fake products.

During a previous Crime Patrol Live episode in 2011, the presenters showed the audience how to tell fake products from authentic ones, using mens watches as an example.

As a rule, it is best not to purchase online as there is no way of inspecting the product before it's been paid for. The Crime Patrol 2012 team advised the audience to conduct research to familiarise themselves with the features and signature elements of the brand or designer they were wishing to buy - that way if a watch does not carry one of these features, it is clearly a knock off.

A leading UK retailer of mens watches, Watch Hub has followed in these crime prevention television programmes' footsteps and launched a YouTube video advising viewers how they can protect themselves against scam companies.

Robin Kamal, co-founder of Watch Hub said, "The aim of this video is to make consumers aware of the risks of purchasing women's and men's watches online by telling them what to look out for and how they can avoid wasting their money on a knock off product. It's the common thing of, 'if it looks too good to be true, it probably is'"

These seven churches came toget women's jackets her and created what is known today as Stewpot Community Services. Hello From Nova Scotia: Learning About Native Heritage At The Bear River

About an hour after my departure from Annapolis Royal after a beautiful drive along the shoreline of the Annapolis Basin and through the early fall colours of the Bear River Valley, (also known as "Little Switzerland". I arrived at the Bear River First Nation Heritage and Cultural Centre. I was greeted by Wanda Joudry-Finigan and Robert (Robbie) McEwan, while Frederick Harlow was manning the cash register. All are members of the Bear River First Nation, and Wanda and Robbie proceeded to celebrate my arrival with a special welcome song.

Wanda explained that the song invites our mutual relatives, grandfathers and ancestors to join us at this occasion. The lobby of the Centre holds various artifacts and a Heritage Gallery that pays homage to current and former Chiefs and Elders of the Bear River First Nation. Wanda pointed out present Chief Frank Meuse Junior who also operates a lodge for adults and youth alike who wish to learn about the Mi'kmaq culture. Another image was of Agnes Potter, a celebrated leader and respected Elder of the Bear River First Nation.

Then I was invited to view a brief movie about Willie Meuse, Frank's grandfather, shown in footage from the 1930s on the Bear River. The film also highlighted the construction and launching of the first birch bark canoe built since 1927. The launching took place in 2004 and speaks to the importance of the ancestors.

We left the vestibule and entered a large multi-purpose room housing a variety of interpretive displays about the life and history of the Mi'kmaq First Nation. This room is also used for theatre productions, games of sports for the youth, community card parties, holiday feasts and presentations. Frederick joined me and gave me an overview of the birch bark canoe. He explained that the canoe weighs about 90 to 95 pounds and was constructed using authentic historical canoe-building methods used in the area. The canoe is a sea-going canoe, evidenced by the high rise in the middle. Fresh-water canoes do not feature a rise in the middle of the canoe.

The vessel is constructed of various types of wood including ash and birch and the outside is covered with birch bark. Any potential openings in the canoe's skin are patched up with a mixture of spruce gum and bear grease. Canoes used to be the main form of transportation for the First Nations People and their navigation skills, fishing and hunting knowledge helped the French settlers when they first came to this area in the 1600s. This life-size canoe was made by Todd Labrador and Cory Ryan who is a seventh generation descendent of Malti Pictou, a well-known Bear River Mi'kmaq guide. Before Cory, he was the last person to make a birch bark canoe in the area.

The next exhibit featured a variety of arts and crafts that are produced here using Mi'kmaq artistic traditions. Robbie came over to give me more insight into some of the local arts and crafts. He explained that leather is worked to produce mittens, jackets, dresses, moccasins and other items. Dreamcatchers are an important symbol to the Mi'kmaq. With their intricate web-like design they are hung to catch dreams floating through the night air. There is a saying that dreamcatchers let the good dreams through but protect you from the bad dreams.

Jewellery is made using a variety of glass beads, bone beads as well as imitation sinew. In the past moose tendons were used to produce the pendants and bracelets. Decorated deer and moose hide are available for purchase as well. Robert indicated that he recently made an ornate dress for a native chief in Newfoundland. His artistic skills are evidenced by some of the most impressive pieces of work: Robert showed me a decorative jewellery box that he is currently working on. The box is made of birch bark and porcupine quills, bordered with sweet grass whose scent I was a women's jackets ble to smell. He explained that porcupine quills are easily removed from the animal, and they are essentially used to stitch an elaborate design. For each quill a hole is poked and the quill is pulled through. By the time this item is finished, Robert will have invested over 200 hours to produce the elaborate pattern on this decorative box.

Wanda joined us and took me to a display of a wigwam to explain certain rituals and conventions that would be adhered to in First Nations encampments. Visitors would be invited to sit in the most honourable space in the home or wigwam. The same would go for children so they would be able to see everything to the left and to the right of them in order to be able to learn. During winter mats made from rush would be used for insulation against the cold. Baskets were hand- made in order to harvest scallop, clams, or mussels. Each of these particular baskets could hold up to 10 pounds of seafood. Other baskets made from ash were used for potato and apple picking. These baskets were hand-made in large quantities in the 1900s as a major means of economic survival in changing times. Today these baskets are sold as decorative items.

The tipi also features a variety of furs, including lynx, rabbit, mink, red fox and silver fox. During the 1920s and 1930s silver foxes were a real fashion craze in England and many women had a fox fur, complete with head and legs, draped around their necks as a statement of elegance. The fox' head would be equipped with a clasp so it could be clipped onto the lapel of the lady's coat.

I learned that the wigwam is made of birch bark. Wigwams were lightweight, which made them easy to move from one location to another and water-resistant. Encampments would be set up near the mouth of rivers, which would provide a plentiful opportunity for food and means of travel. A large part of native diet consisted of fish; the rest was made up of berries, fruits and meats. Often fishing weirs were used for catching eels. Wanda explained that in the last few years about 800 encampments have been found in Nova Scotia with more than 4000 artifacts dating back 2,500 to 4,000 years.

Mi'kmaq hunting traditions included bear traps that were baited with fish. Once the animal was caught, women would remove the guts, the hide and the sinews and carry it back to the camp to prepare it. Excess meat and fat would be scraped off the skin with scraping tools, stones or shells. Wanda informs me that women were very highly respected in First Nations society, as they were life givers. Meals were cooked in a hollowed-out log that held red-hot stones that had been heated over a fire. Water would be poured over the food and the hot stones to cook the meal. Spices were gathered in the forest, and instead of potatoes a plant called the Jerusalem artichoke would be served with the meat. Fish and meat were dried or smoked, and eggs were gathered from marsh birds.

We moved over to a display on Mi'kmaq language and Wanda mentioned that there were 7 Mi'kmaq districts, each with their own chief. The Bear River Reservation is located in a place called "Kespukwik", meaning "where the water stops flowing", referring to the Bear River flowing into the Annapolis Basin. Mi'kmaq language is based on action verbs, and pronouns are important indicators of belonging and possession. For instance, the words "mother" or "sister" can never be said by themselves, they always require a pronoun to indicate whose mother we are talking about. The Mi'kmaq words would say "your mother", "my mother", or" his/her mother" etc.

At the next display we saw a 1936 picture of Wanda's great-grandmother, Sarah Fossey who lived until 1961 to the ripe old age of 101. Wanda has fond memories of Sarah who used to bring her grandchildren and great-grandchildren oranges as a special treat. Sarah was captured in a movie from the 1930s that was displayed at the Bear River First Nation Heritage and Cultural Centre. Wanda was overwhelmed when she first saw moving images of her great-grandmother in the movie.

We also discussed life as a Mi'kmaq today. Wanda explained that Mi'kmaq society was matriarchal until the arrival of the first Europeans. In recent years, from the 1920s to the 1990, the government instituted a policy of residential schools where young native children were taken away from their families and taught the "white man's ways'. This led to a significant loss in culture and heritage, women's status eroded as a result and Mi'kmaq family structure suffered. The government wanted to force native children to "integrate" into mainstream society and in the process an ancient way of life was destroyed. Siblings were often not allowed to talk to one another and families were torn apart. Many of the native children suffered from mental, physical and sexual abuse in the residential schools. As a result of these policies, today many elders are learning the Mi'kmaq language from the younger generation.

Today there is a counter-trend where young First Nations people are rediscovering their language, culture and heritage. Of the conditions at the Bear River Reservation Wanda says that it is a managed forest and there is no poverty on the reserve, which holds about 100 people. Wanda herself has lived off the reserve for her entire life and has been self-efficient.

Wanda also explained that having "native status" is an important issue in First Nations communities. Native status confers certain benefits in terms of health care, taxation and schooling. Bill C31, introduced in 1985, improved native women's status in the sense that they could pass native status on to their first generation children, even if the children were from a mixed native/non-native marriage. Men on the other hand can pass on native status indefinitely through the generations, even if they marry a non-native wife. This often creates economic inequality and friction within the same family where one set of cousins could have native status whereas another cousin would not officially be considered native. Even fairly recent legislation prolongs the European tradition of favouring male bloodlines.

Wanda gave me the names of several books that would provide further education about First Nations life and communities and when I said goodbye, she generously gave me two books to read as a present: "L'sitkuk – The Story of the Bear River Mi'kmaw Community" by Darlene Ricker, and "We Were Not Savages – A Mi'kmaq Perspective on the Collision between European and Native American Civilizations" by Daniel N. Paul, excellent reading material to educate myself further about native culture and history. As a parting gift she gave me a handcrafted medicine pouch that she had made herself, an example of the Mi'kmaq tradition of generosity and peacefulness.

I thanked Wanda and the entire team at the Bear River First Nation Heritage and Cultural Centre for their most interesting introduction to Mi'kmaq heritage and culture and resolved to read these books soon to educate myself. I started driving down the hill and all the people congregated at the local Bear River Band Office waved goodbye to me. It was time for me to continue my drive along the Evangeline Trail to tonight's final destination: Yarmouth.

A Beautiful Home Is The Best Incentive To Buy

When real estate sales are slow, people start talking about buyer incentives – a little something extra to get people to buy your house. In the current market, with prices flat and sales slow, buyer incentives are getting a lot of play in the local real estate news. We've seen stories about sellers who are willing to throw in a big screen television, luxury cruises – even a brand new car. Before you rush out and buy a boat to sweeten the deal on the home you're trying to sell, check with your realtor. Chances are that he'll tell you what real estate professionals all over the country already know – the best incentive to buy is a beautiful home.

If your home has been on the market for a few weeks without attracting interest or offers, there could be any number of reasons. One of the most common is that the house just lacks sparkle – that special something that captures buyers at first glance. Adding that sparkle is neither as hard nor as expensive as you might suppose. Before you consider incentives that might attract buyers, take a hard look at your house. Here's a five step plan for making your home its own buyer's incentive.

1. Enlist the help of your realtor.

No one has a better grasp of what is keeping your home from selling than the professional whose job it is to sell it. Your realtor has been walking people through your house and is in the best position to hear their comments about it. Ask! Remember, your realtor's living depends on getting the best price possible for your home. You can expect an honest appraisal of what steps you can take to increase the appeal of your home and get it on the fast track to sell. Some questions you might ask your realtor are:

- What do people like least about our house?
- What improvements can I make in (name your price range) that will increase its appeal?
- What low cost steps can I take to make my home more appealing to buyers?
- Is our asking price reasonable for this neighborhood?
- What features have been most important to people who have bought houses from you?

2. Do a walkthrough of your property as if you were a buyer.

Look at your home through a buyer's eyes. Pull up out front and study your home from the curb. Is the view appealing? Walk up to the house and keep your eyes moving around the property. What do you see? Stand on the front stoop or porch long enough for someone to open the door. What does that give you time to notice? Proceed through your house room by room in the same way. Look at your rooms from angles that you normally don't use. You might be surprised at the things you notice that you've never seen before.

3. Do a full-scale de-clutter and cleaning.

Your first step in preparing your house to sell should be a full-scale roof to basement cleaning. Get rid of all the personal belongings that make your home "yours". Rent a storage unit for those things you don't want to discard – but get them out of your house. Family pictures, knick-knacks on the mantelpiece, the knitting bag tucked between the sofa and the wall – they may seem neat, tidy and homey to you. Their effect on prospective buyers, though, is far different. Even if they don't recognize exactly WHY the home doesn't feel like it fits them, they'll feel it.

At the same time, take care of any repairs around the house – especially visible ones. Replace cracked or stained floors, repaint walls that show stains, fix the caulking around the bathtub. Do the same outside – repair shutters, trim trees and shrubs, give the driveway a new coat of sealer. Your aim is to make your house look as shiny and new as possible.

4. Hire a landscaper or exterior designer.

The first impression your house makes will be the most important incentive your house has to offer. It can be surprisingly inexpensive to turn your home from ho-hum to wow! Some outside improvements can even have a positive effect on the interior of your house. Here are a few of the most common low-cost improvements you can make outdoors to make your home more attractive.

- Remove high bushes and shrubs that are close to the house. They'll make the front of your house look cleaner from the outside – and let more light into the house for brighter rooms.

- Define the borders of the yard in some way. Brick or stone borders around gardens and along walks give a neat, uniform appearance.

- Add an outdoor patio space or spruce up the existing one. Outdoor entertaining and play space is a very big draw – as long as it's neat, attractive and useful. If your home has a patio, make sure that it's spotless. Invest in new cushions and umbrella for the patio set and if there is a grill, make it sparkle.

- Flowering borders, hanging baskets and container gardens can all add to the attraction factor of the outdoors, but be careful not to clutter. Make sure that any flowering women's jackets areas are well-maintained. Containers and baskets are especially good for this – you can always turn them or replace them if flowers and plants start looking less than fresh.

5. Invest in small home improvements that make a big difference.

Outdated kitchens and bathrooms are the two biggest detractors in the eyes of buyers. It's not surprising, then, that improvements in the kitchen and the bathroom are the ones that are most likely to be reflected in the selling price of the house. Take the money that you're considering using as a buyer incentive and invest it in your kitchen and bathroom. Some of the most effective kitchen and bath improvements include:

- Fresh paint/wall treatments in either room
- New floors in either room
- New appliances in the kitchen
- Resurfacing or replacing the counters and cabinets in the kitchen
- Replacing the tub enclosure in the bathroom
- New fixtures and sink in the bathroom or kitchen
- New lighting in either room

Before you start figuring out what you can offer as an incentive to buyers, think about how that money can be used to add value to your home. The more attractive your home is, the more likely it is to sell without any additional sweeteners in the mix. Remember, a beautiful home is the best incentive to buy.

San Francisco 49ers Tickets - How Are The 49ers Like The Dawn Of The Roman Empire? Part I

The 49ers are 4-8 right now, just barely holding onto a glimmer of hope that they might be able to overtake the Phoenix Cardinals for the division title and a chance at selling San Francisco 49ers tickets to the playoffs.

It has certainly not been a women's coats n easy season for this embattled bunch, with many changes in the hierarchy, many different leaders emerging and retreating, subterfuge and power plays behind the scenes that would make an episode of the West Wing seem like an episode of Blue's Clues. As we enter the 13th week of the NFL season, the 49ers are starting to look more and more like the dawn of the Roman Empire. Here's how:

The Old QB Dynasties of Montana/Walsh, Young/Seifert are Greece and the Early Roman Republic, Respectively

The problem with Ancient Rome was that it was always trying to live up to, as well as model its society after, the Ancient Greeks. In much the same way, we can equate the current 49ers situation with that of the beginning of Imperial Rome, after the Ancient Greek and Roman Republic have had their heyday and disappeared into history. Joe Montana/Bill Walsh's 1980s success is on the same par as Ancient Greece, and Steve Young/George Seifert's success in the early 1990s corresponds to the rise of the Roman Republic.

The last thread of the Republic, Bryant Young, who helped win a Super Bowl with the 49ers in 1994, retired before the 2008 season, forever snapping the link between these glorious days of yore and the current turmoil in San Francisco. The current 49ers would like to emulate the success of their wonderful history, but doing so has not been easy. The sequel is hardly ever as good as the original in cinema, and the same holds true for civilization and 49ers eras.

Mike Nolan is Julius Caesar
Here we're going to embody the transition from powerful quarterback/receiver combos to power running game with the succession from George Seifert to Mike Nolan, although you could also throw Steve Mariucci in there as well, if you'd like. Here we will keep with Nolan for simplicity's sake.

The throwing-running switch is, in essence, the same kind of radical switch that Caesar performed when he declared himself dictator of Rome, an emperor, when Rome used to be a Republic with no singular king. This is not a perfect analogy, but here me out. The switch from passing offense to running offense is like the switch from republic to dictatorship.

Also, there are character similarities between Mike Nolan and Julius Caesar. Mike Nolan comes from a strong line of coaches, a successful coaching tree and a very famous coat of arms (the suit), so, like Caesar, he's the football version of a Roman Patrician, an elite, ruling class noble.

However, he's also a man of the people, generally well liked by your average Joe and a capable military commander (well, we're going to stretch this part a bit). So, Mike Nolan, with a hand in both football nobility and a populist favorite, mirrors two of the most important attributes of Julius Caesar.

Mike Martz is Brutus
Nolan was fired midway through this season, unceremoniously dropped for poor performance. The abruptness of this firing is similar in style to the assassination of Caesar, and although Mike Martz did not hold the pink slip/knife like Brutus did, in my depiction of things I see Martz and Nolan not getting along very well leading up to the deed. Martz' insistence on starting quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan over both Alex Smith and Shaun Hill is suspicious, as was the season-ending injury to Smith right as the season began.

Can we blame this all on Martz? No, but his behind-the-scenes dealings are sure a catalyst for conspiracy theories. Is it possible that, in our little analogy, Martz represents the old guard, himself from a noble coaching tree, a man who wanted to do things like they had always been done in San Francisco- through the air? In fact, Nolan is known as a pass-first kind of coach. Is it possible that Nolan, wanting to win rather than appease tradition, insisted on making Frank Gore and the running game the focus of the offense? Is it possible that this clash- between the old and the new, the air and the ground, the Democracy and the Dictatorship- led Martz to oust Nolan, just as Senator Brutus led the assassination of Julius Caesar?
For the fan who likes San Francisco 49ers tickets, as well as ridiculous historical connection-making, there's more like this in Part II.

What's Different about Welsh Springer Spaniels?

Welsh Springer Spaniels appear to the casual observer to be just another variation of the English Springer. That's far from the truth. Yes, they differ in color, but their genetic history diverged a couple of centuries ago (at least), and there are several other subtle differences which we look at here.

Physical Differences

The Welsh Springer Spaniel has a slightly smaller build than his English Springer cousin. Perhaps one inch lower in height, his body is relatively longer than that of the English Springer (which is seen as 'square' from the side - that is, the length is about the same as the height). The Welsh Springer tends to be slightly lighter.

The other clear difference is in color. The English Springer Breed Standards allow several colorings (and these differ by Kennel Club from country to country), the Welsh Springer has only one coat coloring - Red and White. The Red is to my eye a golden or gingery colour. Some people refer to this as gold and refer to the dog as a golden springer spaniel.

Eye fashion coats online coloring should be hazel or dark.

Lineage

The Kennel Club description of the breed says that it is of ancient and pure origin, though you have to say that the Welsh and English Springers bear a very close physical similarity. However, the colour of the Welsh Springer remains so pure and different to the English Springer that you have to accept that they can only be very distant cousins these days. The English Springer has two distinct lines - show dog and working dog, but for the Welsh Springer there is no distinction.

There are bloodlines of the English Springer which go back to the county of Shropshire - a county adjacent to Wales where Welsh Springers originated. There may well be some historical genetic linkage there. As a Welshman, I visualise the 'Welshies' (as they are often called), in the sheep and cattle country of north and mid Wales, some of which is mountainous and rugged. However, that vision may be more romantic than realistic. They are after all, Springers, used for flushing game - springing into the air chasing after the birds.

Welsh Springers are prized for their hunting abilities, including good noses. Indeed, they first came to notice a result of their exceptional performance in field trials. They were first registered as a breed with the Kennel Club of England in 1902. Their recognition came about a hundred years after that of the English Springer.

Distribution

The Welsh Springer is not as numerous as the English Springer. For example, there are 25 or so Accredited Welsh Springer Spaniel Breeders publicly listed by the Kennel Club in Britain (not all Accredited Breeders choose to be publicly listed). The equivalent number of Accredited Breeders of English Springers is of the order of a hundred.

In the USA, a check across four random states via the Welsh Springer Spaniel Breed Club, gave the following numbers: NC 14, TX 3, CA 7 and CT 16.

For Australia, information was more difficult to obtain, but breeders were located through the Territory Kennel Clubs which are organised under the Australian National Kennel Council. I located one in New South Wales at random.

Their Personality

Welsh Springers are delightful dogs, loyal and affectionate, and great with children - I brought up three daughters with Springers in the house and never had a moment's concern.

Described as 'biddable' - that is, ready, willing and enthusiastic to follow commands - they share this trait with the English springer (and indeed, some other spaniels in the gundog group). Bred for stamina and endurance, they are not sprinters, but will walk and 'trot' all day in pursuit.

Nowadays in Britain, their tails cannot be docked unless by special licence. This rarely happens privately, but the police and armed forces tend to use their English Springer cousins as sniffer dogs and the sniffers get docked. To my eye a docked tail gives the dog the right balance, but obviously this is a subjective viewpoint.

From a practical perspective, it is not generally thought that the docked tail gives the dog much advantage when it comes to working through thick brush and undergrowth when compared to a dog with a full tail, as is the norm today in Britain.

On the other hand, most Welsh Springers are acquired to be family pets or companions, and the finer points of working game and hunting are not of major importance to the choice of this versatile breed.

Tips For Choosing A Healthy Dog Food

Your dogs nutrition is critical for leading a long, healthy and happy life. There are so many different types of dog foods available to you that it is sometimes difficult to determine which one is the right one for your dog. Just because a dog food is expensive, does not always mean it is the best food for your dog.

IMPORTANT One thing that is critical to the health of your dog is to know what NEVER to feed him. Some foods that humans women's jackets can eat can be hazardous or even fatal to dogs. Some of these foods you need to avoid are: alcohol, baby food that contains onion powder, bones from fish, cat food (too high in protein), chocolate, coffee or tea, grapes or raisons, citrus oil extracts, onions, garlic, table scraps, mushrooms and more. Some of these are toxic and could cause death, whereas some will cause less severe health issues, such as diarrhea and vomiting.

There are quite a few more human foods that dogs should not eat. Research any food you plan to hand over to your dog. Trying to satisfy your dogs desires, could be a devastating result. In fact, chocolate is lethal for your dog, especially dark chocolate. The ingredients in chocolate are digested and excreted by a human in as little as three hours, but the same amount of chocolate in a dog can take up to 18 hours to leave a dogs body. Here are some of the symptoms of dog chocolate poisoning: vomiting, excessive urination, hyper, diarrhea, seizure, coma or death.
Read the labels of their dog food. Dogs diets should be rich in meat protein.

If you choose to have canned dog food, look for chicken, turkey meat or pork because they will help keep your dogs coat smooth and healthy. Give the foods that have a high vegetable protein level because these foods are more easily digested and give the dogs energy. They should also receive an adequate amount of carbohydrates, such as rice, corn, oatmeal and wheat.
Dont give your dog a bone! Once bones are gnawed to where they are soft enough to eat, they will feel like splinters inside a dogs throat and this could cause them to choke.

A natural dog food diet is a great way to increase your dogs overall health. People who have tried the natural dog food diet have been very happy with the outcome. They report that their dogs have shinier coats, their eyes are brighter, they have more energy and their breath is better. The idea of a natural dog food diet is to feed your dog quality human food, not just your leftovers. If you do not take care in what type of human food you feed your dog, than instead of making him healthier, you could be leading him down the path of degenerative diseases or diabetes. Many people are beginning to give their dogs more natural dog food diets.

Some people are making the meals right in their kitchen. However, the dog food industry has recognized that owners want to give their babies a variety of healthier foods, so you can find more natural dog food manufacturers on the internet. If you do choose to make your own food, be prepared to spend a little time in the kitchen. Prepare the food ahead of time, so that you are not tempted to give in to their desires of your leftovers. This can happen if you are simply too tired to get up and make your dogs meal after spending all that time making your own meal!
There are many different dog foods available. Be sure you are choosing a dog food that is high in meat protein. Before you prepare any meals for your dog from quality human food, check to be sure that the food is not toxic to your pet.

After feeding your dog his meal, take him on a walk. This will help to ensure a healthy lifestyle for you and your dog. Bring along the pet stroller so that he can have a relaxing ride back from the park after all of the playing. He will likely be ready for a nice long nap in his dog bed after his big meal and playtime!

Is The Golden Retriever Right For You

Having a golden retriever for a pet is the greatest in my opinion. They are wonderful animals, that are a joy to be around.

They are always happy to see you when you come home, love to be by your side, are great with kids, and are just darn good looking.

But, and it's a big but, they are a fair amount of work to take care of. If you already own one you know what I am talking about.

If you are considering getting a golden retriever you want to make sure you are ready for the commitment it requires to properly care for one of these beautiful dogs.

Every year, thousands of golden retrievers are abandoned at local dog pounds, and rescue centers, for various reasons. Sometimes the owner gets sick and can no longer care for the golden, or often the owner is forced to move to housing that does not allow pets.

But a very common reason that golden retrievers end up at shelters and rescue centers is simply because the owners decide they are just too much trouble to take care of. As sad as this is, it happens more that you would think.

People are drawn to the beauty and the popularity of the golden retriever, but they never do any research on what is required to properly care for this breed. After a period of time they find out that it is more than they bargained for, and they give the dog up.

Golden retrievers are a great breed, but they are definitely not for everyone. First of all they are a large dog. If you have a very neat house with a lot of fragile breakable items, a golden may not be the right dog to have.

Golden retrievers are constantly walking around wagging their tails, so anything you may have on a coffee table, which is just the right height, will be cleared off in a wag or two of their tail.

They shed their beautiful coats quite often, so there will always be dog hair to vacuum up, and they will require women's jackets at least a quick brushing once every week or so to keep their coat looking good, and free of knots and tangles.

Daily exercise is probable one of the hardest requirements to fulfill for the golden retriever. If you have a large yard, and maybe some kids to throw the ball, and run around with your golden you are all set, but if you don't have that, then you will have to provide at least 30 minutes of exercise for your golden once, and preferably twice a day.

This can be a problem if you work long hours, or live in a region where weather is a concern, like new england in the winter. Giving a golden retriever proper exercise is something you have to do every day.

If they do not get the proper exercise they need, it can cause behavioral problems. They are also prone to becoming overweight very easily without proper exercise, and can develop health problems.

The golden retriever is definitely not a dog you can just leave in the house all day. They have been know to get bored without proper exercise, and start getting into mischief by chewing on things around the house, including themselves.

Golden retrievers like any dog require regular health care from a veterinarian. They will require the normal vaccinations and shots. They are also number one on the list for certain health problems like cancer, and hip dysplasia, which is a disease of the hips in the rear, causing problems walking, which can lead to surgery.

If you are looking for a watch dog the golden Retriever is probably not the right dog for the job. They will often bark if an intruder approaches but that is about it.

If a robber breaks in, a golden retriever will probably help carry your stuff out the door, if he thinks there is a biscuit in it for him.

Golden retrievers need to be with people. They love to be with the family and be involved with what is going on. They want to be part of the family.

If you are looking for a dog to leave outside in a kennel, or dog house, or down in the basement away from the family, the golden retriever is definitely the wrong dog.

Golden retrievers seem to need to be involved in everything you do. They are definitely not a stay in the corner all day type of dog.

Whatever you are doing, they need to be there, even if it is as simple as dusting the coffee table.

The only time I can get rid of my golden retriever is when I get the vacuum cleaner out. Then she runs for her life. Other than that she is my shadow wherever I go in the house.

If you think that could be a problem, then the golden retriever might not be the right dog for you. I suppose you could train them to stop following you, but I really think it is just their nature.

If you are considering getting a golden retriever, just realize that these are the needs and traits of the breed.

There are thousands of people like myself that would not have it any other way, or have any other dog besides a golden retriever.

They are sweet, loveable, beautiful dogs. They just require a lot of care and exercise, but the love and companionship you get back from them is well worth the effort.

If after reading this you still think the golden retriever is right for you, then find a reputable breeder, to help you make the right choice.

Just be sure you can make the commitment for the life span of the golden that you choose, which can be ten to twelve years or longer.

How to Help Dog With Itchy Skin

Dog allergies are fairly common and can be the cause of dry, itchy skin. If your dog is scratching a lot, he could be suffering from environmental allergens like pollen and dust, or even from inflammation caused by flea bites. Another source of itching could be the shampoo or grooming products used on your pooch.

This is because a dog's skin is ten times more sensitive his caretaker's. This makes them highly susceptible to the irritants found in their surroundings.

Getting to the heart of the matter may take a multi-pronged approach due to the numerous causes for canine itching. Making time to do this however, will be essential in diagnosing and subsequently curing your dog's skin ailment.

Proper Grooming

While dogs often run away from the dreaded bath or flea dip, most do not mind being brushed. This is because loving pet parents who know what they're doing can make it an enjoyable experience. With the proper products, habitual grooming may even make a dogs skin healthier. Keeping the skin healthy is one significant way to keep itchiness to a minimum.

If you find you rarely have time to groom (or don't know how to do it properly) take your doggie to a pro.

Groomers use products that help a dog maintain a healthy coat, which is gained from healthy skin.

Provide a Skin Protective Diet

Just like human beings, dogs may be susceptible to food allergies. Even organic pet food or treats can have ingredients in them that cause the dog's skin to be dry and flaky.

To uncover the offending item, try changing the foods your pet eats. If and when you find the suspect ingredient, remove it from your pet's diet. This could in turn alleviate your dog's dry itch.

Also, be sure to scan future purchases to ensure new products are free of this particular allergen.

Bathing and Dipping

Some dog owners may be over washing their pet, which can lead to dryness, especially if the products being used are chemically based. This is due to the fact that many chemicals found in maintenance products can be extremely harsh to a dog's skin. However, even with organic pet products, over washing is not a good idea.

Washing once a month is always best.

If fleas are the cause of the itching, then a dip could be the solution. Taking your pet to the vet would be the best course of action, but if you insist on doing the dip yourself, look into organic products that won't irritate the dog's skin further. As a matter of fact, if your pet suffers from chronic dry, itchy skin, you should look into an organic line of grooming and maintenance product anyway.

Remember to use lukewarm water when bathing your pet as well a fashion jackets nd towel dry your dog as opposed to blow drying him or her. These all important steps will continue to keep the skin from over-drying.

When to visit the vet

Realistically speaking, your dog itchiness can be a reaction to any number of things, including the mange. If you have tried to figure out the source of your dog's condition and come up empty, it may be time to take them to the veterinarian.

A vet can do a ton of diagnostics that will aid them in determining the factors that are contributing to the skin problem.

They will also be able to employ a variety of solutions, like steroid injections, topical or oral cortisone and/or antihistamines.

Once you uncover what is behind yours dogs dry and itching skin, you can take the steps necessary to protect them. The health of your dog and his quality of life could very well depend on what you do in the regard and your loyal and adoring companion is worth all the effort.

Before Learning How To Install Wood Flooring

Installing wood flooring not only increases the value of your home, but it also adds to the beauty and warmth of any home. Contrary to a slate or stone flooring, wood flooring creates a warm and inviting feeling to your home. There are a variety of choices available in hard woods and other types. The wood you choose should depend on your d??cor and personal preference. Wood flooring is appropriate for almost every room, excluding the kitchen and bathroom due to the moisture in these rooms. Learn how to install wood flooring from a professional if you prefer to install it yourself. It is important to install it correctly to ensure it is long lasting. Otherwise, it would be best to hire a professional skilled in flooring.

Hardwood is one of the most popular choices in wood flooring and there are several types of hardwoods from which to choose. Oak, cherry, hickory, maple and walnut are some of the more common hardwoods installed, and are all able to be stained to a variety of different shades and tones. However, some hardwoods such as walnut and cherry have such a beautiful, rich tone in their natural state that you might consider leaving them in their natural color rather than staining the wood.

Once you have chosen the type of wood to install, you must consider your finishing options. Pre-finished wood is already stained and protected with a clear coating and is a good option when time is limited. It is generally more expensive, but as mentioned, it can save a significant amount of time. Another option is to finish the wood after the floor is installed. You must sand, stain and urethane the floor and the floor must be sanded after each coat. The more coats of urethane applied, the better protected the surface will be. This finishing method takes several days to complete, as suspected since the floors must dry between coats. You can also choose a distressed or reclaimed flooring finish. The floors do not have a smooth texture, but they are beautiful and have a unique finish. A benefit is that this flooring will hide scratches much better than urethane floors.

Besides hardwood flooring, you can also choose laminate flooring which resemble hardwood but are less expensive. A good quality laminate often resembles hardwood so closely that it is difficult to tell that it is not real hardwood. Armstrong flooring, for example, make quality laminates.

Regardless of the type of wood flooring you install, the care is the same. Proper care will ensure your flooring lasts. Be sure to sweep or vacuum the floor regularly. Dirt will wear away the surface and leave scratches on the floor, which are easily noticeable on the urethane floors. It is a good idea to use mats at the door entrances. Also, use a dry mop when mopping is ne women's coats eded. Too much water can damage the floor, such as warping to the surface, molding or damage to the backing due to water trapped under the floor.

The History Of Women's Halloween Costumes

Halloween is a holiday that has been around for centuries. Have you ever thought: When did women's Halloween costumes become so popular? Well, one must first examine how Halloween came about. It started out as a religious holiday meant to appease the Gods and to denounce evil. It was thought that the souls of the dead were able to appear on this night. It is mainly of European descent, namely Celtic and Druid religions. The Celts and Druids are the first ones that dressed up in costumes. They mainly wore animal skins and plant skins to ask for God to grant them a bountiful harvest and easy hunting so that the upcoming winter season would pass by without much harm to them. It was also to protect them from any dead souls that might have made it through to the real world.

As the years passed the tradition of Halloween started to change. It stayed mostly a religious holiday until the late 1800's. But it was at this point that the ideas changed to be more inclusive. That said, the changes have been mostly studied in the United States and women's coats this is when most of started changing the celebration to not be only focused on a good harvest, but on family celebrations. Becoming more family oriented it allowed people to enjoy the holiday together and perhaps even bring the community together. It was at this point in history that costumes started to come to the forefront more and more.

Girls and boys, as well as men and women, dress up today for this magical holiday. Though originally it was only children that dressed up, that has changed as the years have passed. Pop culture is a definite influence on how one dresses. Kids typically dress based on what is on the cartoon channels they watch, while men and women dress as what they feel like being for a night. Halloween offers a night to let your guard down and become a super hero, animal, or anything because an outfit allows you to transform. Because dressing up is so popular with men and women, costume parties are being the new it thing. Parties for adults with contests and such have made this one night a huge party event.

With so many stores out there, there are a lot of choices for females. It really depends on what the individual is looking for. Sometimes it is easier for someone to step out of their comfort zone to become something that they normally would not even think about! Take your average woman of today, they could dress from something as funny as a fifties do-wop girl to something sexy like a French maid.

Historically, women's Halloween costumes were mainly characters like witches or teachers; typically they did not step outside the comfort zones of what women traditionally did or were portrayed as. As the years have passed, they have started to run the gamut. It is typically the night of anything goes. They are not just locked into dressing up in a traditional garment like a witches smock, but they might think outside the box and dress in something very untraditional. This night allows one to really be anything that they want to be. One can be someone else for an entire day and even an entire night. The more creative an outfit is allows the person wearing the outfit to really become that person, animal or character. Women can really benefit from dressing up for the day and or night because it is never too late to explore the boundaries of what people expect of you. Dressing up in costumes allows you to let down your guard to be someone else for a short time. The day after Halloween, the costume is retired to the closet with memories of a fun time wearing it!

Sussex Spaniel Puppy And Dog Information

The Sussex Spaniel is a loving and cheerful dog. It can make do in an apartment as long as it gets frequent walks. A better situation would be a properly fenced in yard for exercise. It must be noted that some do like to be noisy. They generally get along well with other pets and dogs as long as they have been extensively socialized with them when young. It is also said that they love the older children that they are raised with. As a reminder, never leave a child unsupervised with a puppy or dog.

*Approximate Adult Size. The approximate adult size (two years old or older) of the Sussex Spaniel is 15 to 16 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and 40 to 50 pounds.

*Special Health Considerations. Most dog breeds have certain inherited health problems associated with that specific breed and the Sussex Spaniel is no exception. Although considered a healthy breed, be on the look out for enlarged heart, intervertebral disc syndrome and ear infections. This disease list is an informative guideline only. Other diseases may also be significant threats, please contact your veterinarian for a complete list.

She should visit the veterinarian several times in the first year for shots, boosters and check up. Then, as an adult, she should visit the veterinarian yearly for shots and check up. As she gets older, six years and on, she should visit the veterinarian twice a year for check ups and shots. Remember; avoid feeding your dog sweets.

*Grooming. The Sussex Spaniel has a flat, heavy, medium length golden red coat. She should be brushed regularly. Brushing will help her maintain a clean and healthy coat, avoid mats, help you keep a closer eye on her health and strengthen your emotional bond with her. You may want to have her professionally groomed several times a year.

Her ears should be checked once a week and be kept clean. If you have her professionally groomed, make sure ear cleaning and inspection is part of the package. No water or excess fluid should get in the dogs ears, and do not try to irrigate the ears. Ear cleaning is too complicated and critical to instruct here. Look for hair growing in the ear canal, excess wax, or moisture. If her ears have a discharge, foul odor or she seems to be in distress and you suspect an infection, or tumor, consult your veterinarian.

Her teeth should be brushed at least twice a week with toothpaste and toothbrush designed for dogs. Brushing removes the accumulation of plaque and tartar which can cause cavities (rarely) and periodontal disease. Dog periodontal disease can lead to pain, loss of teeth, bad breath and other serious disease.

Her toenails may need to be examined for growth and clipped regularly. The toenails of the rear feet grow slower than the toenails of the front feet.

*Life Span. The Sussex Spaniel can live between 11 and 12 years with proper nutrition, medical care and excellent living conditions.

*History. The Sussex Spaniel c women's coats omes from Great Britain where it was used as a bird hunting dog. They may be a cross between a Bloodhound and Clumber Spaniel. They were first registered by the American Kennel Association in 1878.

Cocker Spaniel Puppy And Dog Information

The Cocker Spaniel is a generally even tempered, loving dog that is affectionate and loving. She is a good watch dog and when properly bred, a great child companion. She can do well in an apartment as long as she gets frequent long walks. A properly fenced in enclosure is better for exercise.

*Good With Children? Cocker Spaniels are great with children as long as they come from reasonably good bloodlines. They are so popular that puppy mills are churning them out and some poor traits have been showing up. As a reminder, never leave a young child unsupervised with a puppy or dog.

*Good With Other Pets? Again, they are generally good with other pets as long as they have good bloodlines.

*Temperament: This is a very friendly, loving dog and they are women's jackets active.

*Approximate Adult Size. The approximate adult size (two years old or older) of the Cocker Spaniel is 14 to 15 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and 24 to 28 pounds.

*Special Health Considerations. Most dog breeds have certain inherited health problems associated with that specific breed and the Cocker Spaniel is no exception. Be on the look out for eye problems, canine hip dysplasia (genetic based looseness in the hip joint that can lead to arthritis pain and lameness), epilepsy and slipping stifles, IMHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia), glaucoma, and patellar luxation.

*Grooming. The Cocker Spaniel has a soft, silky coat that needs almost daily brushing. Her coat can pick up brambles and debris and this must be brushed out of her coat before they form mats and cause skin problems.

Generally a guillotine type trimmer is the best for this chore and competent instructions to accomplish this can be found on the net.

*Life Span. The Cocker Spaniel can live between 10 and 14 years with proper nutrition, medical care and excellent living conditions.

Wire Fox Terrier Dog Breed Description, History, Grooming, Health Issues and Living Conditions

Description: The Wire Fox Terrier is a medium-sized dog, whose high is 14-16 inches, in the dog and 13-15 inches, in the bitches. The dogs' weight is 15-20 pounds and the bitches' weight being 13-18 pounds. The Wire Fox Terrier has a flat skull, and the muzzle gradually tapers to a black nose. The eyes are dark in colour as well as the eye rims. This breed has small V shaped ears that drop forward and hang close to the cheek. This dog has a thick and muscular neck, with straight legs. The Wire Fox Terrier tail in countries that permit docking is docked to ? or ? of the tails original length. The coat is wiry and dense twisting is seen throughout. This is such coarse hair it has been described as being like the outer shell of a coconut. This is such a thick coat that even if parted you do not see the skin. The Wire Fox Terrier has a soft and short undercoat. Their coat is mainly white with brown or black markings.

History: The Wire Fox terrier was developed by crossing the Dachshund, English Hound and then later in the history by using the Fox Hound and Beagle. This is one of the oldest Terriers, coming from England in the 17th century. This dog like most of the terriers was developed to help on the farms, to rid them of rats and mice also to work in the fields to get rid of the foxes. This breed would dig out the dens and get the fox into t fashion jackets he open where the farmer could kill the fox. The Wire Fox Terrier came in smooth and wire coats, which for a long time were considered the same breed. The breed we see today was due to crossing the rough coated black, and tan terrier. The first standards came into being in 1876 this separated it from the wired haired dogs. The USA separated the breeds in 1984. This dog is good at; being a watchdog, tracking, hunting and, in time, as a good agility dog that can perform tricks.

Temperament: The Wire Fox Terrier is brave, bold and cheerful. This dog is affectionate and good with children. They will show great loyalty to the family and love the company of their family. This dog can is not to be trusted with non canine pets, as it has such a high instinct to hunt. They will love to go exploring and really need a good enclosed garden and to be kept on the lead when out walking. This dog needs good socializing, when young, which will help greatly for the dog to mix and get on with other dogs. This is a dog with good intelligence and can be taught to perform tricks. They can be a dominant dog with high energy levels. If this is not released with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation they can become stressed. This dog needs to have both, full walks, and their mental energy to be used daily. This dog needs a firm 100% consistent owner that has good leadership qualities to enable this dog not to take over the role and develop small dog syndrome. If they do get small dog syndrome you will get behaviour issues such as dominance, guarding objects, jealousy, and excessive barking along with separation anxiety. This doesn't have to happen, and it can be sorted by the owner meeting the dog's natural instincts and becoming stable, firm and above all else consistent with firm rules to follow. This dog really needs good daily walks, as they burn up energy helping the dog to be calmer.

Health issues: Epilepsy is quite common in the Wire Fox Terrier and there are a few, more minor concerns, so check with the breeder.

Grooming: For the wire fox terrier a good weekly brushing is all that is required, if it's only a pet dog. If you wish to show the dog, more care is needed. Stripping the dogs' coat a few times a year, but there is a complicated show grooming routine.

Living conditions: The Wire Fox Terrier will do fine in an apartment if given the right amount of exercise daily.

Black Labrador Retriever – Silver Factored Or Mongrel?

Suppose you have silvery hair. The natural assumption of those with whom you live and work would be that you are of an age when the hair begins to lose its color. If your hair turned grey before you were 20 or 30 years of age, it might be a dietary deficiency, a medical concern – or genetics.

A black Labrador Retriever, silver factored with a coat that is something less than black, is claimed by some to be a pure bred dog. Purportedly rare and highly desirable, a black Labrador Retriever that's silver factored may be offered at a higher than normal price. Does it merit this? Or is it simply a crossbreed – a mongrel?

Black Labrador Retriever Standard

The Labrador Retriever breed standard says: "The Labrador Retriever coat colors are black, yellow, and chocolate. Any other color or a combination of colors is a disqualification." The breed standard goes on to say that black Labrador Retrievers must be all black. If a black Labrador Retriever has a small white spot on the chest, it is "permissible, but not desirable" according to the breed standard.

A black Labrador Retriever, silver factored or not, must meet that standard. Every purebred black Labrador Retriever must be black.

Genetically Speaking

A black Labrador Retriever, silver factored or otherwise at odds with the standard, apparently has genetics that are not in line with those of the breed. The genetics of a true black Labrador Retriever's coat color seem to be rather simple. Each dog receives two pairs of genes: one from its mother and one from its father.

You will remember from early science class that there are two types of gene in every living being: dominant and recessive. This is true of you and it is true of black Labrador Retrievers. Genes determine your hair color, just as genes determine the coat color of a black Labrador Retriever. You might have brown, black, red, blond, or a variation of any of those. A Labrador Retriever has only two choices: black and chocolate – although we see black, chocolate, and yellow.

Consider these facts.

1. In Labrador Retrievers, a dominant gene always determines what color the coat will be. Always. It does not matter what other genes are present. The black gene, which we will call "B" for short, is dominant. Therefore, if a "B" gene is present, the pre-selected coat color is black. But read on.

2. We will call the recessive women's jackets chocolate gene "b" for short. The "b" gene can only produce a chocolate coat if the dog inherits no "B" gene. Those are the only choices: "B" dominant black genes and "b" recessive chocolate genes. There is no gene for yellow, silver, or other colors. A black Labrador Retriever, silver factored or other factored, would have to go against this genetic makeup.

3. In addition to the black and chocolate genes, Labrador Retrievers have two more genes. These genes determine the dogs' ability to express a dark coat, i.e. to let the dark color show. Let's call the dominant expression gene "E" for short and the recessive expression gene "e" for short.

4. Labrador Retrievers that have the dominant "E" gene are able to express a dark coat. They can show black or chocolate. If the dog has a "B" gene and an "E" gene, it will be black, no matter what other genes it has. If it has a "b" and an "E" gene, it will be chocolate.

5. Labrador Retrievers that have the recessive "e" gene cannot show a dark coat. They will show neither black nor chocolate. They will show the absence of those by being a shade of yellow. A Labrador Retriever with a combination such as BBee has 2 dominant genes for black, but the recessive "e" genes will not let the color show. The dog will be yellow.

You will see that a black Labrador Retriever, silver factored is not possible with these pairs of genes. There is no scientific data as of this writing (2007) that has found any silver gene in black Labrador Retrievers.

True Nature of So-called Silver Labs

A black Labrador Retriever that is said to be silver factored may be an unusually light yellow or chocolate Lab. There is also, in the U.S., a gray-brown shade similar to that of Weimaraners. It is reported that the U.S. kennel first to report "silver" Labradors also kept Weimaraners, a silvery-gray breed with somewhat similar appearance. It is widely believed that the true nature of a black Labrador Retriever, silver factored, is that of a crossbreed: Labrador Retriever – Weimaraner mix.

The AKC recognizes "silver" Labs only as chocolate, and rejects them because they do not meet the breed standard for chocolate Labs. A black Labrador Retriever that's silver factored is not an AKC standard purebred dog.
